Hate Crimes
We take reports of harassment very seriously. If people are
singled out for some reason and become victims of harassment we
will contact the police and work with them to stop offending
behaviour. This may mean that we take out an injunction (a
prohibitive order) or in extreme cases, we may ask the courts for
possession of the property if tenants behave in this way towards
others in the neighbourhood.
Friendship Care and Housing have a harassment
policy that covers incidents or a series of incidents intended or
likely to intimidate, cause nuisance or annoyance to an individual
or group.
Your tenancy with Friendship Care and Housing
states that:
“You must not cause, commit or allow anyone
living with you, or your visitors, to commit any harassment, or
threat of harassment, on the grounds of race, colour, religion,
age, lifestyle, sex, sexual orientation or disability, such that it
may interfere with the peace and comfort of, or cause offence to
other persons in the locality, or to any of our tenants, agents,
employees, or contractors or anyone acting on your behalf.”
If you have experienced anything that you feel
is racist, homophobic or any other hate crime contact us immediately.
