Cash injection targets safer games area for local
youngsters
The multi-use games area on Swallowdale Road
in Sinfin is about to receive a most welcome overhaul, thanks to
the joint support and funding from Derby City Council’s Community
Safety Partnership and Friendship Care and Housing
(Friendship).
To heighten the existing fencing around the
games area, cranked extension arms with line wires will be
installed to the inside of the ball court. Friendship’s local
housing officer, Camilla Boss said “This is great news, the
youngsters will be able to enjoy a secure and safer play area and
avoid having to retrieve stray balls escaping into the road… and
they’ll steer clear of neighbours complaints.”
Demonstrating their commitment to the
community, Friendship is part of a housing related Tasking
Group. They work closely with Derby City Council’s Community
Safety Partnership along with other local landlords and multi
agency groups. The Group work together and share
information to build stronger and safer communities, promote and
improve community cohesion and to stamp out anti social behaviour
in neighbourhoods.
