John Perkins retires!
Colleagues and friends joined John Perkins to wish him well in
his retirement and to celebrate his 19 years service with
Friendship.
John joined Friendship back in 1990, initially
working as a carpenter/general builder. Over the years he
gradually developed his career to the position of Property Services
Asset Manager.
He and his wife Maureen, who also
retired recently, is looking forward to John’s help in looking
after their sixteen month old granddaughter Natasha three days a
week and for him to make a start on the long list of jobs she had
lined up for him!
ABOUT JOHN PERKINS
John joined Friendship in March 1990 as a
carpenter/general builder working for Friendships Direct Labour
Organisation. He was promoted to supervisor and later became the
Direct Labour Organisation manager for approx. 15 operatives,
providing the repairs and maintenance service to all of
Friendship's stock.
He also managed the gas servicing team and
trained to become a CORGI registered fitter providing him with the
knowledge and understanding in the delivery of this critical
service.
In 2000, John took the opportunity to transfer
to become a Technical Officer based at Friendships Birmingham
office managing the repairs and maintenance of the West Midlands
stock. In 2002 joined the asset management department
to oversee delivery of the planned, cyclical and re investment
programmes.
When the asset management and reactive
maintenance services merged in 2007 to form the property service
department John was promoted to Property Services Manager reporting
directly to the Head of the department.
