We can refer you to our independent Money Advice Service which
is a free and confidential service that can help you with:
- Budgeting advice
- A full benefit check
- Dealing with people you owe money to
The Money Advisor is able
to:
- Check that you are receiving all the benefits you are entitled
to
- Help you prioritise your debts and prepare a full debt
repayment plan if applicable
- Talk to the people you owe money to, to work out a repayment
agreement
- Help you to draw up a budget.
You can expect the Money Advisor
to:
- Make sure you understand how you can or cannot be assisted
- Keep your information confidential and only pass it on with
your agreement
- Answer your letters and emails within 7 days
- Answer your telephone calls promptly.
