Mental Health Services
Our learning disabilities service has nine homes, typically with three to six residents in a comfortable domestic setting in the community. The needs and abilities of the residents vary considerably from home to home. Some homes have residents with high support needs who may have difficulty in communicating and some may behave in ways which challenges services, in their attempts to communicate and/or to control their environment. Some people need assistance with personal care, including washing and dressing.
In each of the homes the residents, whether they have intensive support needs or less intensive, will be given every opportunity to share in positive experience and to take their part in their community. This may include social activities such as going to the pub, a restaurant or the leisure centre.
