Pearl McCauley

Pearl is a current tenant of Friendship Care and Housing.  Before she retired in 1993 Pearl worked with the Social Work Agency at the Birmingham Institute for the Deaf where she facilitated stimulation groups for people with hearing impairment and gained British Sign Language skills to aid communication.

She spent 25 years working with socially excluded people, campaigning for better housing and strived to improve quality of life in the community.  Pearl also founded a residents association in Ladywood and formed an active community forum which she chaired for 10 years.  She played an active role in developing relationships with the City of Birmingham Council space and local schools.

Pearl was previously a member of Midland Heart Regional Board and is now an active participant in our key customer scheme.

Pearl joined the Board in 2007.
